Since 2011
In 2011, one family lit a flat-top grill on Wellington Street West and made a simple promise: homemade food, made fresh every day, served warm to everyone at the table. Fifteen years later, that promise runs stores across Canada — and it hasn't changed a word. Patties still hand-pressed every morning. Fries still cut from Canadian-grown potatoes. Real Québec cheese curds, and a vegetarian gravy the whole table can share.
Our recipes are built on Canadian originals: Québec-style poutine — eleven ways — Montréal smoked meat on rye, the Halifax donair done right, 100% Canadian beef, hand-spun real milkshakes. Our beef comes from Canadian farmers. Our potatoes come from local growers. Our vendors are Canadian. And our menu welcomes everyone — halal, vegetarian, gluten-friendly — because in Canada, everyone eats at one table. When you eat at Sam's, you taste the country. C'est ça, l'idée.

A Sam's Grill is never just a restaurant. It's jobs — first jobs for students, steady work for parents, a ladder that runs from the fry station to owning the store. It's a local family who owns the business, not a fund that owns a portfolio. It's demand flowing to Canadian farms, support flowing to local hospitals, and investment flowing into Canadian Main Streets. Social. Cultural. Economic. Every burger grows Canada a little.
From one grill in Guelph to a platform the whole family runs — the system grows so the welcome never has to.
From northern mining towns to big-city corners, Sam's Grill is building something this country has never had: a burger brand born in Canada, grown by families, that stays Canadian all the way. First we eat. Then we do everything else.
