We collect as little as we can and tell you everything we do with it. That's the policy behind the policy.
Sections marked draftare awaiting legal review. They describe our real practices, but the final wording is counsel's.
When you contact us, join the newsletter, apply to partner with us, or order catering, we collect what the form asks for — typically your name, email, phone, and your message — so we can answer you and deliver what you asked for. That's the reason we collect it, and the only one. We keep records only as long as we need them for those purposes or as the law requires, and you can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: contact@samsgrill.ca, attention Privacy. This policy follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
You only get marketing email from us if you asked for it — joining the newsletter is express consent, and we record when and where you gave it. Every email we send identifies Sam's Grill (55 Pinebush Rd, Cambridge, ON) and carries a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribes are honoured promptly, and always within 10 days as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation requires.
The site sets no analytics cookies until you allow them. If you accept the cookie notice, we load Google Tag Manager for analytics; if you choose “necessary only”, nothing loads and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser. We do not currently run Meta (Facebook) pixels or other ad trackers; if that changes, this section changes first.
Online orders happen on third-party platforms (Koomi, Order.Online, Global Payments, ValleyEats, and delivery apps like Skip, Uber Eats, and DoorDash). What you share with them is governed by their privacy policies — we don't see your payment details, ever.
The reviews on this site come from Google's public review system, synced automatically and displayed unedited. They're public information; we don't alter or select them.
If you chat with our AI assistant, the conversation may be processed by our AI provider to generate answers, and we keep logs to check quality and fix mistakes. The assistant never gives immigration advice, and nothing you tell it is used for marketing without your consent.
